“Divine Servant”®

Jesus washing the feet of Simon Peter John 13:1

By Max Greiner, Jr. ©

“Divine Servant”® is the first Christian bronze sculpture by Kerrville, TX artist, Max Greiner, Jr., which was commissioned by the Holy Spirit in the spring of 1986. Due to the artist’s initial disobedience, the work did not actually begin until 1989. When Max finally obeyed the Holy Spirit, his destiny was revealed. Today, Max’s Christ-honoring artwork is collected in 65 countries and has been used by thousands of individuals and ministries to lift up Jesus Christ and raise funds for worthy causes.

The life-size (105%) “Divine Servant”® Bronze Sculpture was donated to THE COMING KING FOUNDATION on 11/9/12 by Max and Sherry Greiner for the glory of God.

This sculpture depicts Jesus Christ washing the feet of Simon Peter on the night before the crucifixion. This is the ultimate example of humility ever seen. Peter is depicted uneasy and confused, while Christ is focused and determined to complete His mission. Greiner depicts Jesus strong, power under control. A towel is wrapped around his waist as the John 13 verses describes. The foot washing bowl has a foot stand, patterned after one found in Jerusalem dating back to the time of Christ.

The artist used models for the bodies. However, the faces of Christ and Peter were based on prayer and reference to the oldest known authentic drawings of the two men, which were found in the Catacombs of Rome.

Many people consider “Divine Servant”® Greiner’s masterpiece. It has profoundly affected millions of people, including the artist. Today, the artist uses his art and testimony to bring many to Jesus Christ.
